Following hotly on the heels of the 0.6 release, a new version of the Web Developer extension has just been released. This release was a response to user comments about changes in the previous version. The major new features are an option to hide the Web Developer context menu and the ability to configure whether the view source feature loads in a window or a tab.

hey i think your web developer bar is great! my question is about your to-do list. "Add User Style Sheet" does that mean that we would be able to configure the styles which are used to outline elements?
i would like to be able to change the outlining to say, 2 pixel wide solid lines or what have you. i tried digging around to see if it was a simple css i could change but came up with nothing.
either way though, youve done an excellent job, and its very much appreciated! thanks again.
Yes, this option would allow to have your own rules for outlining elements.
Great tool. I've been using it for some time. There is one feature I would like to see added. Can you disable a site's colors, i.e., all text and backgrounds to default?
this toolbar is really great. kudos for creating a resource that now i can not live without.
Doug - I'll add the option to disable a site's colors to the to-do list.
Hello Chris, I was just wondering if the Webdeveloper extension is compatible with Firefox 0.8?
Greets Rogier
Many many, groveling on the floor like a arse type thanks for what must be the best extension there is. Well for myself anyway. Like bryce i'd hate to be without it.
Rogier, i just reinstalled it with the new firefox and everything seems perfect so far.
Rogier/Paul - the Web Developer extension is compatible with Firefox. I have been testing it against the some of the branch nightly builds to make sure.
Let me know if you do see any problems, however...
Ok, thanks, I also went ahead and installed it anyway, and everything seems to working alright, but I'll let you know, if I find anything out of the ordinary
hey me again, i doubt this is your fault but i wanted to note that somewhere between a firebird .8+ nightly and the firefox .8 release, styles dont persist across pages anymore.
i assume this is obviously the fault of firefox but i figured id mention it to you anyway.
did i mention that webdeveloper owns my soul, and i cannot live without it?
Persisting of styles works for me under Firefox 0.8. Are you sure the option to persist the styles is still set?
quite sure yes. i just used youre uninstaller extension to remove webdev .61 and reinstalled it again after a few firefox restarts.
still no style presisting.
just fyi, im running XP, i had a nightly build firebird 0.8+ with webdev .61... i installed firefox and it kept my webdev settings and everything except its not persisting styles now.
im gonna try uninstalling firefox and deleting all the mozilla files and directories and start anew.
first i must figure out where my favorites are stored.
ill let you know if i still have the problem once i cleanly install everything.
I would suggest you use a fresh profile as the style persistence is working fine on all machines that I have tested it on.
wow very odd. after creating and deleting muliple new profiles i uninstalled, deleted and reinstalled firefox. for some reason it still wasnt persisting the styles.
i gave up and started to install some other extensions (cute menus, and ieview) and neither of those was working properly.
i went into extensions and disabled all my extensions. restarted FF and enabled ieview. restarted, it worked. enabled cute menus, restarted. it worked. enabled webdeveloper. restarted
now my styles persist!
hey chris thanks for putting up with me. i didnt realize my posting would become your support forum. everything is working great again (somehow?) and im thankful.
really excellent extensions. thanks again, and i hope i wasnt too much of a bother.
Very strange...well, at least you got it working...
