A new version of the User Agent Switcher extension has been released. In this release the toolbar icon now changes when a non-default user agent is selected and both vendor and vendor sub can now be overridden. I have also improved the auto-reset functionality as there were some cases when it previously would not reset properly.
With this release I am also releasing a localized version that contains multiple languages. If you have new or updated translations simply contact me and I will add them to the localized version.

By the way in mozilla in FF 1.0 with Adblock block your home page doesnt display properly
(using filters from http://www.geocities.com/pierceive/adblock )
I don’t plan on adding functionality to the extension beyond changing the user agent - it is designed to be a lightweight solution.
I’ll take a look at the home page issues with Adblock - it’s probably the Google ads causing problems.
Hello, good job! Would it be possible to make Vendor and VendorSub “undefined” like it shows if we use Internet Explorer in User Agent Switcher’s Home Page?
If you need help translating into European Portuguese, let me know: amcs@sapo.pt
I don’t think vendor and vendor sub can return undefined as that is a data type not a value.
If you send me the Portuguese translation I will add it to the localized build.
Hello again!
if it isn’t possibel to return a data type or a null pointer, it is possibel to know if it is internet explorer or not, since it doesn’t have Vendor & VendorSub.
Do you have a text file or some other format with the english stuff that the extension displays? Where do I download it?
Thanks
There is never a full-proof way to know if something is Internet Explorer or not as HTTP headers can be spoofed completely. This extension is just a simple tool to help bypass sites that do browser detection as it is generally a bad practice.
I’m not sure what the text file would have in it. If you go to the extension options that shows you all the settings that the extension changes.
Good work. But sadly it doesn’t worked for me. I set user Agent to IE, retart Firefox and I got an error with the Java plug-in. It refuse to start because it now sees browser as IE… Any idea how to fix it ?
Please read the FAQ.
i also have the same problem as M. Rondeau but Chris reqest to read the FAQ but i cannot find an answer for the M. Rondeau’s prob in FAQ. pl. help
The link in the FAQ goes directly to this question:
“Why doesn’t Mozilla Firefox or Mozilla start with the User Agent Switcher set to something other than ‘Default’?”
Which then describes how to fix the problem.
I finally decided to give you a little feedback ! well you got it! i love your site !!! no , really, its good…
I like your website; I will share this with friends

Any chance that disabling the referer can be included in userAgent Switcher?
I know it is easy to access it via about:config but it should probably be a setting in userAgent Switcher as well
