Web Developer 0.9

A new version of the Web Developer extension has just been released. This is the biggest release yet and contains many new features.

As with the recent User Agent Switcher release I will also be creating a localized version containing multiple languages. I had localizations for the previous version, but there were too many changes in this new release to still use these so if you have new or updated translations simply contact me and I will add them to the localized version.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the great components!

FYI: I tried using the extension update feature in Firefox and it was unable to find any for WebDeveloper or UserAgentSwitcher…downloading and installing by hand worked fine.

I am waiting to hear if there are any major bugs before putting in the request to have the extensions updated on update.mozilla.org which will enable the automatic update feature.

The Open DOM Inspector menu item is always disabled. Is this feature turned off?

You have to have the DOM Inspector installed for it to be enabled.

Chris - I love 0.8 - I downloaded and installed 0.9 - for some reason the Tools (Validation stuff) does not appear in my Toolbar. It is in the Tools, Web Developer menu, but not in the toolbar view. Did I goof this or is this a whoops?

Chris,

I’m getting the javascript (!) on alot of pages…..yet when I click to see the errors/warnings…there aren’t any.

Any ideas why? I uninstalled 0.8 and installed 0.9.

Yeah, this is a bug and I plan to release a 0.9.1 version with the fix. See this forum topic:

It is a very very very Very cool extension and one of the most practical extensions for developers.

And it will be better if it can intercept get/post request(displaying both request head and body) and even let users modify them and then send to server actually.

BTW, if you need a translation of Chinese for internationalization, please feel free to contact me.

The LiveHTTPHeaders extension allows what you are looking for with the request and I don’t plan on duplicating that functionality.

If you have a Chinese extension feel free to contact me.
