Murderball

amazon.comTonight I watched the inspirational documentary Murderball — a movie about quadriplegics who play full-contact rugby. The Sports Guy does a much better job describing the movie than I could and I highly recommend the DVD.

“…a movie about quadriplegics who play full-contact rugby.”

Quadriplegics have no use of their arms or legs. I think you mean “paraplegics.”

  2. Nathan — Actually, they are quadriplegics and the movie explains the common misconception that you, I and most people have that quadriplegic means a person who has no use of their arms or legs.

In actual fact quadriplegia “causes the victim to lose total or partial use of the arms and legs” and the players in the movie have lost only partial use of their arms.

Just watched Murderball for a class assignment and thought it was awesome. I’m doing research for a report about quadriplegics now and stumbled upon this website. Just wanted to note that this was a great movie and a real eye opener for me and my perception of quadriplegics
