i noticed that for netscape user agent switcher still shows it as 4.8 can you please update the string for netscape 8
There are still some sites that actually check for Netscape 4 for some reason so I think this is actually a more useful default. Of course, you are free to change the user agent in the options.
I tried it in Windows 2000 Sp4 with Firefox 1.5 and it didn’t work. It would be nice if it did! Many folks are still
using Windows 2000 SP4 because it’s faster than XP due to less drivers and other things running in it!
Could you make a version that works with both operating systems?
As the documentation says the extension is compatible with any platform that Firefox runs on.
Without more information than “it didn’t work” I cannot really help you, so please post in the forums exactly what the problem is.
I love this extension! I use it a custom agent string to block downloading of adsense ads on my site (I don’t want my views to count in the impressions).
The user agent goes back to default whenever Firefox is closed and reopened. Is there a way to make Firefox open with the custom agent when reopened?

Thank you for the quick reply. I’m so used to developer sites without FAQ’s, I didn’t even look.
Per your note, I went and read the FAQ and even the bug history. I’m surprised this hasn’t been fixed since 2001.
