Re: Huge Import List!

Would you have some User-Agent String for iTunes software...? smile
I'm looking for it as soon as browsing iTunes content through a "modern" webbrowser is quite possible, because iTunes content is made of XML.

Re: Huge Import List!

Import these:

iTunes/4.2 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10.2)
iTunes/4.7 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10.2)
iTunes/7.1.1 (Macintosh; N; PPC)

I'll add them in my next import update.

That list is from March 2007. An updated list from May 2007 is available here.

QAInsight - QAInsight - Four links to User-Agent list and an update to the user-agent import (May 18, 2007)

The most important ones for me are each min/max *major* version on Windows, Mac and Linux.

Firefox 1.0.8
Firefox 1.5
Firefox 1.5.0.12
Firefox 2.0
Firefox 2.0.0.4

Firefox 3.0a1 Minefield
Firefox 3.0a6 Gran Paradiso
Firefox 3.0a7 Minefield

Flock 0.7.0
Flock 0.7.14
Flock 0.8 Sulfur
Flock 0.8.0.99 Sulfur Cormorant

Thunderbird 1.0
Thunderbird 1.0.8
Thunderbird 1.5
Thunderbird 1.5.0.12
Thunderbird 2.0
Thunderbird 2.0.0.4
Thunderbird 3.0a1

I started a sticky on my board for user agents, but so far people don't seem to be responding to it. sad

User Agent UA Strings, Please add or edit user agents as needed.

The two links below are an excellent resource.

User Agent String explained
List of User Agent Strings

Unfortunately, several versions (and operating systems for each version) are missing, and it does not have the latest releases. Most of the UAs for Mozilla-based browsers on that site are for Windows. I need the Mac and Linux strings too.

Here are additional links found elsewhere.

Tech Patterns - Firefox UserAgent Switcher list v1.0.4 (old)

Can someone tell me how to make my own custom xml file to import, so that I don't have to work with that huge list?

Re: Huge Import List!

The lists above are outdated, and most only provide the main string, so they won't work when the other fields are requested (App Name, App Version, Platform, Vendor, etc. mostly blank).

The site I'm trying to access is scripted to reject all non-Windows users, even though I'm told it works fine from Linux and Mac OS X with the UA properties spoofing Windows.

Quirksmode UA detects my platform as "an unknown OS" with every import file I've found so far. Can anyone point me to a list with more complete fields, so I don't keep wasting time with lists like the four I've tried so far that don't populate all the fields?

Re: Huge Import List!

Before I go and make a list my self,  does anyone have a copy of the one of the "Huge Import Lists"  that has all the fields filled out and not just everything lumped into the Description field.

The XML file there^ couldn't be imported into User Agent Switcher because of some inconsistencies in the xml formatting. I've corrected it and it works with User Agent Switcher now. Since the commenting @ the above^ link is closed, i've posted it here - http://pastebin.com/f2a1e91e4
