Activating "css -> View style information" blocks "c" keyboard keys

Great application, don't want to live without it anymore.

Today I have stumbled of a strange malfunction: Activating "CSS -> View style information" blocks the "c" keyboard key. This means I can't type the letter "c" for as long as this feature is activated. Before you ask, no the Keyboard works perfectly and typing "c" in other applications is no problem.

Don't know what to think about that. Strange thin, isn't it?

Greetings,

pepebe

Pressing 'c' with the 'View Style Information' feature enabled allows you to copy the element path. However, since so many people seem to be typing when using this feature I am going to remove this functionality in the next release.

chrispederick, instead of just removing such a great feature why not change it to either ctrl c like all other windows apps or have it on a click ability.  Unless I am mistaken there is no other way to see the whole element path if it is longer then your browser is wide.

Using Ctrl+C will cause similar issues when people try to copy text on the page so that's not an option. It can't be a button you click because as soon as you move the mouse the path will change once you hover over a different element.

I will be looking into other options though, but it's not a trivial thing to fix.

hmm wondering what about just clicking when you are in the box that you want since that doesnt do anything unless you click on a link which ends up reloading the page ext... so clicking would do it.  As well ctrl c wouldnt work but other key combinations might like a ctrl shift c which doesnt do anything either smile

Re: Activating "css -> View style information" blocks "c" keyboard keys

Doing it on every click may not be ideal, since it will overwrite whatever is in your clipboard which some people will not like. Ctrl+Shift+C is used for 'View CSS' right now and there are many issues with keyboard shortcuts conflicting right now so I'm reluctant to add another one at this stage.

But as I said I will be looking into various options.

Cool,

Just thought I would throw a few options out there smile

What about having a shortcut macro page that lets users choose there own shortcut scheme.  I dont want to piggy back on this one but I was wondering if you where looking into element path going multi line when its longer then the browser page is wide?

Yeah, if I use a keyboard shortcut I will use the existing keyboard shortcut section in the options.

The multi-line issue has been discussed previously on the forums and I am looking into it for a future release.
